Indication
TRULANCE is indicated for treatment of adults with IBS-C
Counsel patients on expected benefits, potential adverse reactions, and the importance of following prescribing directions.
- Most common adverse reaction is diarrhea; instruct patients to contact their healthcare provider if severe.
- Confirm adult status and absence of mechanical GI obstruction prior to treatment.
- Encourage ongoing communication about symptom changes and tolerability.
Reminder: TRULANCE is contraindicated in patients less than 6 years of age and in patients with known or suspected mechanical gastrointestinal obstruction. Avoid use in pediatric patients; safety and efficacy have not been established in patients under 18.
